Since 1946, an organization has been dedicated to youth in and around Newburgh, New York. The Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh (BGCN) remains an essential part of our community's fabric. Most recently, in a ground-breaking collaboration with the City of Newburgh, BGCN hired sixty City of Newburgh youth to explore social and cultural values in their community through the creation of a thought-provoking mural series and banner installation. Audrey Carey Park, named for Newburgh's and New York State's first black female mayor, served as the canvas for this effort to engage youth in a meaningful community improvement project.
